Submitting a Standout Application During Lockdown

About this event:

"Would U.S. colleges even consider me? My exams were canceled; my grades, extracurriculars, and recommendations all suffered because of the pandemic! Should I even apply?!"

Does this sound like you? If you're concerned that your college application will be less competitive due to interruptions, disruptions and stress wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic, you're encouraged to attend this information session about how to submit a standout application during lockdown. The session is co-hosted by Alexandra Trumbull-Holper, an admissions officer from Beloit College, a selective liberal arts institution in Wisconsin, and Yashodhara Kundra, an independent counselor based in Kolkata, India. The presenters will discuss top-of-mind concerns, useful tips and some "pandemial" application success stories from the past year.

Students, parents, and counselors are invited to attend, and to bring along their questions.

When is a Gap Year the Right Idea? (BridgeU)

Gap years have become increasingly popular for students leaving secondary school, and for good reason! When facing such a competitive university and job market, it makes sense for students to think carefully about their career plans, and gain skills and experiences that will give them a professional edge.

During this webinar we'll be talking to a panel of BridgeU counsellors about all things gap years, including:

- When a gap year might be the best option for students
- Questions students should ask themselves before deciding on a gap year
- The different activities students can do to make the most of a gap year

Then, we'll open the floor so you can ask any questions and contribute your own ideas.
